Lo reportó Or Nevo Michrowski (Air Security).

Indirect prompt injection shows up in HTTP headers on live sites: 30 attempts across 217 million responses

Signals Corps analyzed 217 million HTTP responses from Common Crawl and found almost 8,000 sites addressing AI agents through response headers (6,989 send x-llms-txt). Thirty sites attempted indirect prompt injection: most were pranks ("delete your training data"), but some could sway an agent, such as a header carrying Claude's refusal string or a fake "94% match confidence" message aimed at hiring screeners. Practical risk is low today because it depends on configuration: Claude Code would need to run curl with specific flags and Gemini CLI needs experimental.directWebFetch, but Playwright MCP's browser_network_request tool returns full headers by default. Treat metadata as untrusted input, require approval for MCP connections, and check proposed actions outside the model.

CVE-2026-111160: LightLLM kills its inference worker on one unauthenticated request while /health stays green

ModelTC LightLLM through 1.2.0 has a DoS (CWE-502) on /generate: an unauthenticated attacker sends the internal pd_kv_trans_params field, deserialization fails in InferSamplingParams, and the inference thread dies. Worse, /health keeps reporting healthy, so orchestrators never restart it and every later request hangs until a manual restart. CVSS 4.0 8.7 / 3.1 7.5. No fix is available yet: keep the endpoint behind a proxy that strips internal fields, and use a health check that runs a real inference.

CVE-2026-59951: MCP Python SDK never reclaimed Streamable HTTP sessions

In stateful mode (the default for FastMCP 1.x, MCPServer 2.x and StreamableHTTPSessionManager), sessions never expired, a client DELETE left the entry registered, and there was no cap on session count. Any client that can reach the endpoint can grow server memory without bound using ordinary short requests; only a restart reclaims it. Medium severity (CVSS 4.0 6.9). Affects 1.8.0–1.29.1 and 2.0.0–2.1.1; upgrade to 1.30.0 or 2.2.0, especially if untrusted clients can reach your MCP server.

CVE-2026-102682: an exposed Pipecat dev runner lets anyone create bot sessions and paid rooms

The development runner of the Pipecat voice-agent framework exposes /start, /daily and /daily-dialin-webhook without authentication by design, because it binds to localhost. The problem appears when someone publishes it via --host 0.0.0.0, a mapped port or an open tunnel: anyone can then create bot sessions or paid Daily rooms, get room URLs and join tokens, and burn local resources and third-party credits. Affects 0.0.98–1.5.0; fixed in 1.6.0. The dev runner is not a production server.

CVE-2026-86063: a SHA-named branch defeated plugin hash pinning in Claude Code and Claude Desktop

The plugin install flow ran git checkout on the marketplace's pinned commit SHA without verifying that the resulting HEAD matched. An attacker controlling the upstream repository could create a branch named exactly like that 40-character SHA, and git would resolve to that branch's tip instead of the reviewed commit, installing attacker code even though the user pinned a safe hash. Exploitation requires installing a malicious plugin and a git host that permits SHA-shaped branch names. CVSS 4.0 7.5. Fixed in 2.1.179; auto-update users already have it, manual updaters should update now. Reported by Or Nevo Michrowski (Air Security). Lesson: after any checkout by hash, verify with git rev-parse HEAD.

CVE-2026-84318: Nginx UI's nginx_config_add MCP tool skips validation, enabling authenticated RCE

Nginx UI's REST API (POST /api/configs) calls config.ValidateConfigFile and blocks dangerous directives, but the nginx_config_add MCP tool writes the file and reloads nginx without that check. An authenticated attacker (or a prompt-injected agent holding that tool) can inject perl, js_import, load_module or user root; with the Perl, njs or Lua modules loaded, that is RCE. CVSS 3.1 8.8. It is part of a batch of 11 Nginx UI advisories on the same day, several of them MCP tools sidestepping controls (CVE-2026-84317, -84319, -84360). The pattern: adding an MCP surface duplicates every endpoint, and every security check has to live on both paths.

HiddenLayer: decision models like Jev still fall for indirect prompt injection

TypeSafe AI markets Jev as a decision model that returns probabilities and a confidence score instead of text. HiddenLayer built a mock store and told a Jev-based browser agent to buy the cart without changing it; a fake sponsored ad with a "Confirm Price" button frequently diverted it (clickjacking via indirect prompt injection). Jev was fooled less often than Qwen3.8-27B tuned to act as a decision model, but it was still fooled. Adapting TokenBreak, they also slipped harmful prompts past Jev used as a prompt verifier. Bottom line: a decision model is still a language model, and its outputs trigger real actions.

Bank of America brought in 1,000 contractors to patch the vulnerabilities Mythos found

On the Q3 earnings call, CEO Brian Moynihan said the bank brought in 1,000 contractors in Q2 to remediate findings from Mythos, Anthropic's bug-hunting model, on top of about 3,000 in-house technical staff. Remediation costs were "a couple of hundred million plus", though that figure bundles Mythos work with anti-money-laundering cleanup, so the AI share is not broken out. Moynihan expects costs to drop as the initial backlog clears. The takeaway: automated vulnerability discovery produces a patch backlog with real cost, and it needs budgeting before the model is switched on.
